A Freemason

∴A PRIMER (ME AND FREEMASONRY)∴

∴My Personal Tumblr (Daysrunaway)∴

I am a 24 year old Freemason from Pennsylvania. I hold membership in two lodges, Columbia No. 91, Grand lodge of Pennsylvania & Madison No. 87, Grand Lodge of Connecticut.

My hope, for this page, is to educate those unfamiliar with Freemasonry, as well as satisfy the needs of those simply interested in the mysticism, tradition and aesthetics of Freemasonry (as well as its related Esoteric Orders).

Freemasonry is, in the simplest terms, a Fraternal Order. We are a combination of a Philosophic, Esoteric, Social and Charitable Order. We exist to make good men better and to better our communities. We better each other through our unique fraternal bonds, and better our communities through the charity we do. We are not a religion and we are strictly non political.

hey, Brother, hope all’s well below the mason-dixon line.
Two things to point out. In every other country but the USA, lodges are kept small. 70 members is considered to be huge. They often, after 70, break off and form a new lodge, I’m speaking more directly to Continental Europe and South America.
Also, by my calculations through the secretary’s manual of Lodges (many Secretaries, or Grand Secretaries, will have these to consult when a visiting Brother arrives), which lists most Regular Grand lodges Memberships (not all), it seems that Brazil (who has two grand lodge systems. It’s similar to the USA, except, it’s not divided by Race (like Prince Hall, and, it should be noted, many states have no Racial Boundaries. The Worshipful Master of my lodge will be, in two years, black and I’m in a not-prince hall-regular grand lodge) but by Rite (one being Scottish Rite, for the first 3, the other being York. The York Grand Lodge, Grand Orient of Brazil, is national with district grand lodges per-state. The Scottish Rite has no national body, like the USA, and is state by state) has the third largest membership next to the United States of America (the Largest, if we calculated all members) and England.

The Grand Lodge of Colombia (or National Grand Lodge of Colombia in Barranquilla), A Regular/Recognized Grand lodge of Columbia.

i like this small space…it seems to be in line with the implied “secrecy” or “exclusivity” that conspiracy theorists will rant on about…it would seem to me, historically, that lodge meetings would more often than not take place in small rooms and undecorated buildings (on the outside).
of course, i love the grand aspects of my fraternity as well. it seems to speak to the smallest of structures aspiring towards big things, and the largest of structures depending on the smallest of things…down to each individual brick.
really, i love it all…i’m glad it’s alive and well in latin america and across the globe!
